Easter bonnet parade - Thank you so much for joining us and supporting the children today, they were amazing and we are so grateful. Have a lovely Easter!

We got creative and made our own Easter cards using different materials.

We had fun in Attention Autism today finishing our topic Puddles and Rainbows by having a colourful afternoon. We sat for a colourful bucket time and then watched skittles make a beautiful rainbow. We then made our own lava lamps, carefully pouring the water and oil and watched the colourful bubbles floating to the top.

Dosbarth Gwyrdd Children have been looking at The Rainbow Fish, and how it is important to be a kind friend. We even made our own rainbow fish out of CD's

We went on a Welly Walk to splash in puddles as part of our topic 'Puddles and Rainbows'

We have enjoyed playing in the water tray investigating objects that float and sink.

Our topic this half term is:

Puddles and Rainbows

We will be looking at different types of weather, seasons and colours.

We had fun being archaeologists, using equipment to help find fossils in our fossil digging today.

We used the salt dough year 3 made and pushed toy dinosaurs in to them in order to make our fossils. We then had to wait for them to dry.

Year 3 helped making some salt dough for our art work. We helped measure and stir the ingredients together to make the dough.

Dinosaur Melting - We had loads of fun using warm water and pipettes to save the dinosaurs from the ice.

Traffic Management

  • Last week we were able to share the news that the Key Stage 2 unit will be moving from Abercynon Community Primary School to Perthcelyn Community Primary School in September 2024.  This provides the opportunity for children who start or who are in our Foundation Phase unit to remain with us until they reach the end of Junior school.
  • One of the consequences of this change will be greatly increased traffic on the site in September.  In order to prepare for this change would you please leave the school grounds in your cars as soon as you have dropped off your children in the morning and after you have picked up your child at the end of the day.
  • Your co-operation is very much appreciated.  If you have any questions at all related to the above then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Mr A. D. James - Head teacher

We have taken part in a Sports RCT charity exercise class to raise money for Velindre!

We had lots of fun mixing different colours and freezing them yesterday. Today we painted using all the different coloured ice cubes!
