Croeso i Dosbarth Pinc - Welcome to Dosbarth Pink

This half term our new topics are 'BIG WIDE WORLD and SPLASH'

These topics focus on the world we live in. Your child will learn about different climates and explore habitats, including their flora and fauna. They will locate the United Kingdom on a world map and look at how life is different elsewhere. Your child will also explore the world of water and learn about the different forms and bodies of water. They will play and explore with freezing and melting and make ice lollies.

We will be kick starting our new topics off with a trip to Cyfarther Splash Park on Thursday 9th June smiley

Please can children come to school in shorts and t-shirt ready for immediate entry and a spare change of clothes with a towel for after.

Welcome Back - We hope you had a wonderful Easter with your families.

This half term our topics will be SUNSHINE and SUNFLOWERS with SHADOWS and REFLECTIONS.

PARENT INFORMATION: This seasonal topic provides opportunities for outdoor learning and teaches children how to care for plants and animals in their local environment and how to stay safe in the sun. Your children will also learn about natural phenomena, including shadows, reflections and echoes. They explore how shadows are formed and how they can change.

Please can all children bring in their swimming kit every Friday. This needs to include, a towel, bathers, goggles (if needed), shampoo and a bag please. Any questions please ask Mrs. Waldron. smiley

Please can  all snack money (£1pw) be paid on a Monday morning.

Our class PE will continue to take place on Thursday, please can all children come to school in their chosen kit.

Pack Lunch: This has been a huge success for our children. All children are happier eaters and are developing a wider range of tolerances to food. It is important that we continue to support this. Please ensure your child's pack lunch is not over loaded with food, this can be daunting and stressful.

A healthy pack lunch could include...

  1.  Sandwich or pasta with a filling of their choice or plain.
  2.  Fruit
  3.  Vegetables
  4.  Yoghurt/ Cheese
  5. Treat - please only include one treat for your child. We can use this treat as a motivator to developing tolerances to new foods. This could include a small chocolate bar, packed of crisps, small cake bar.
  6. Drink - water or no sugar squash. Please do not send your child in with pop.

Your child's class teachers are:

Mrs. A Waldron - Class Teacher   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

During the first half of the Spring Term our theme will be 'Where does snow go?'.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!. Why does snow melt? How can we keep warm? This half term it is time for us to explore the frosty but fascinating season of winter. We will need to wrap up warm and head outside for wintery walks, to spot frosty windows, icy puddle, icy grass and steamy breaths. Back in the classroom. we'll warm up and try hot chocolate and dress dolls and teddies in outfits that will keep them warm. Along with exploring the freezing and melting process and listening to winter themed booked.

Language Link

As part of our provision, we run a number of interventions that are specialised to the development of language, communication and engagement. One of the interventions run within the class is Language Link. Infant Language Link provides planned an resourced interventions for a graduated approach. High quality teaching strategies and classroom resources are used.

Language Link can also be taught at home through simple activities and talking to your child. Please see the links below to view the Parents Portal page. The page is full of rich content and can be downloaded with support sheets to help at home.
