Our theme for the term will be ‘Welsh Weathers & Seasons’, where children will explore how weather and the changing seasons shape the world around them. Through an expressive arts lens, pupils will use music, movement, colours and textures to represent different types of weather, as well as noticing seasonal changes outdoors. We will take a multisensory and hands-on approach, allowing children to experience learning through real-life weather events wherever possible. For example, if it snows, rains or becomes particularly windy, we will use these moments to spark curiosity and make learning meaningful and relatable. Children will also make comparisons between Welsh weather and that of other parts of the world, helping them recognise similarities and differences in climate. Throughout the term, they will create artwork, listen to stories and take part in imaginative play linked to sunshine, rain, wind and snow. As we explore Welsh seasonal traditions and global environments, children will build their understanding of the world while expressing their ideas creatively through play and exploration.
