This Autumn Term our topic is 'Let's Celebrate'
"Let’s Celebrate" is an exciting theme that gives all our pupils the chance to learn about the many ways people celebrate what is important to them. Through play, practical activities, and a multi-sensory approach, children will explore how celebrations can express beliefs, values, and identities, both in religious traditions and in non-religious ways.
By taking part in hands-on, engaging experiences, our learners will see the connections between what people believe, what they value, and how they live. This helps them build a strong sense of who they are, where they belong, and how they can play a positive part in making the world fairer and more inclusive.
Throughout the theme, we will celebrate diversity, explore identity and belonging, and recognise the importance of community and shared values. Most importantly, we want every child to feel that their voice matters and that who they are is valued and respected.
As part of "Let’s Celebrate", children will enjoy activities that help them learn more about themselves and each other. For example, they might:
All About Me – sharing what makes them special, their likes and dislikes, and celebrating similarities and differences with their friends.
Feelings and Emotions – using stories, role play, and pictures to talk about how we feel and how to respect one another’s emotions.
Our Amazing Bodies – learning about important body parts, how to stay healthy, and exploring the world through our senses.
Making a Difference – discovering simple ways we can help each other, our school, and the wider world.
Children will also explore how different cultures shape who we are, how we experience the world, and the different ways we celebrate important moments in life – through stories, food, music, and traditions.
