Summer term
Who lives in a rockpool?
Which creatures live on the seashore? Why do crabs have shells? Can starfish really grow back a leg? We will be exploring these questions and more in our theme about the seashore. We will be finding out about the plants and animals that live in different seaside habitats. We will male comparisons between seaside visits/holidays in the past and present and about the importance of keeping safe in the Sun and looking after our wonderful beaches.
Further learning opportunities and experiences will include:
• geographical features of the seashore
• water safety
• properties of natural materials
• art using materials found at the beach
• pollution
We will be taking a trip down to Porthcawl and having a visit from the RNLI as part of our memorable experiences.
