Headteacher Welcome

It is a privilege to welcome you to Perthcelyn Community Primary School.

Since taking up the post of Headteacher in September 2024, I have been incredibly proud to lead a school that sits at the heart of such a strong Valleys community. Over this time, I have had the pleasure of getting to know our pupils, families and staff, and I continue to be inspired by the resilience and ambition that define Perthcelyn.

Having spent over 20 years in education as a class teacher, Deputy Headteacher and now Headteacher, I remain as passionate as ever about making a difference to the lives of children and families.

At Perthcelyn, we firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and to have high aspirations for their future, regardless of their background or where they live. This belief underpins everything we do and is reflected in our mission: Every Child. Every Opportunity. Every Day.

Our school is a nurturing, inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to be confident, curious and resilient learners. Guided by our values: Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Resilient and Be You!, we celebrate individuality while creating a strong sense of belonging for all.

We are committed to providing a rich and engaging curriculum that inspires pupils, removes barriers to learning and opens doors to future opportunities. We want every pupil to leave Perthcelyn not only achieving their potential, but also ready to make a positive contribution to their community and beyond.

Partnership is at the heart of our success. We value strong relationships and believe that by working together, we can provide the very best for our children. Our community is a source of great pride to our pupils, and we celebrate the culture, heritage and identity that make Perthcelyn so unique.

We look forward to working alongside you as we continue to provide every child with the opportunities, confidence and aspiration to succeed.
